6 squares Bakers semi-sweet baking chocolate
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups of Rice Krispies OR Cocoa Pebbles cereal
White decorating gel

Microwave chocolate, corn syrup and butter in large bowl on HIGH for 2 1/2 minutes. Stir well.
Add in vanilla. Add cereal. Mix well.
Cool for 10 minutes.

PLAYOFF PINWHEELS
Ingredients:
1 pound of thinly sliced deli roast beef
1 container (8 oz.) soft cream cheese with chives and onion
4 medium flour tortillas
1 cup cucumber, finely chopped and seeded
2 cans (4-1/4 oz. each) ripe olives, chopped and pitted (you could use green olives too)
Directions:
Spread cream cheese evenly on one side of each tortilla. Top each with equal amounts of cucumber and olives. Layer deli roast beef over olives, leaving 1/2-inch border around edges. Roll up tightly.
To serve, cut each roll crosswise in half.

Winter songs and printables

Here are a few songs and printables to use with your children.  You could even turn the songs into felt stories... Check out my blog on The Mitten felt story on Dec. 26th, 2010...
I also use printables when I am getting dinner ready.  They love to sit at the table, color and be where the action is it!
You put your right mitten in,
You take your right mitten out.
You put your right mitten in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the winter pokey, [shiver]
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

Others Include:
You put your left mitten in....
You put your right boot....
You put your left boot....
You put your winter hat in....
You put your snowsuit (whole body) in....

A Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman
Had a carrot nose
Along came a rabbit
And what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny,
Looking for his lunch,
ATE the snowman's carrot nose...
Nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!

Hibernation Song...
to the song "Are You Sleeping"
Bear is sleeping, bear is sleeping
In the cave, in the cave.
I wonder when he'll come out, I wonder when he'll come out
In the spring, In the spring.

Birds are flying, birds are flying
In the sky, in the sky.
I wonder when they'll come back, I wonder when they'll come back,  In the spring, in the spring.
